Putting August to bed tonight, I read a story from the FRIEND magazine. It was about a boy who's dog was hit by a car. This boy prayed to his Father in Heaven to save his dog. He felt like everything was going to be fine only to find out that his dog died. This spurred on a conversation about death. August was tearful. I explained that Christ died that we might live again and he wanted to know why he died. More explaining.
August then said, "I don't want to die." I told him that it would be ok and that we all get to live with the ones we love after we die. He said, "like Great Grandma?"
I told him that he would live a long long life.
What a blessing to be able to teach him about life and to see how interested he is in such simple truths. This is what happiness is.

I can't believe how big August is! I love the innocent questions they have at this age. Only sometimes I can't explain them as well as you! Miss you guys!

Is that your puppy?

Yes, August is big! He loves to play Mario Cart Wii, what a bad Mom I am, he would play it all day long if I didn't make him run up and down the stairs between games. :) Yes, that is our puppy. She is gigantic. So big. Bigger than August. Only 3 months. What were we thinking?
